There was no big event in San Fran or intriguing invitation – Apple just quietly launched two cheaper versions of its Macbook Air today by listing them on its website.
The new MacBook Airs have boosted processors and start at $899, $100 cheaper than the previous versions.
The 11-inch MacBook Air comes with a 1.4 GHz processor with “Turbo Boost” speeds of up to 2.7 GHz. It has a 4GB of memory and is available with 128GB of flash storage starting at $899, and 256GB of flash storage starting at $1,099.
The 13-inch MacBook Air comes with a 1.4 GHz processor with “Turbo Boost” speeds of up to 2.7 GHz. It too has a 4GB of memory and is available with 128GB of flash storage starting at $999, and 256GB of flash storage starting at $1,199.
The 13-inch MacBook Air has up to 12 hours of battery life and the 11-inch MacBook Air adds up to nine hours of battery life.
