Two adrenaline junkies jumped off a 48-floor skyscraper in Canary Wharf last month.
The footage of the unnamed daredevil duo jumping from the top of the Pan Peninsula in Canary Wharf isnโt for faint-hearted. It shows the base jumpers taking a plunge from the balcony of the Attic Bar and free-falling over Canary Wharf. The thrill seekers later open their parachute and land safely.
Speaking about the jump, the duo told the Standard:
โThis jump is something that weโve been planning for a good few years now.
โLooking at safety issues, access to the bar, where we could get changed, outside areas and a quick escape route too. On the night itself, we were there for a few hours just chatting.
โThe wind speed was a bit too high so we were just waiting for it to pass.
โWhen last orders was called, we checked the wind speed again and luckily it was safe so that was our moment to jumpโ.
โIt was an incredibly ballsy way to do it. Striding across the bar and the bar staff just didnโt spot us.
โNow, I just have a huge sense of accomplishment having succeeded in jumping off such an iconic building in London.โ
