Warren Buffett joins Twitter and gains 1,000 followers A MINUTE

Warren Buffett, the fourth richest man in the world, joined Twitter yesterday as @WarrenBuffett, declaring “Warren is in the house” with his first tweet.

The Sage of Omaha had racked up 45,000 followers after just 45 minutes on Twitter. At time of going to print he has almost 260,000 followers, despite having only sent one additional tweet:

 

Buffett isn’t following anyone, but as you might expect, plenty of tweeters are trying to piggy-back the social flurry over the Berkshire Hathaway boss, who Forbes estimates to be worth $53.5bn.
