The Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is set to announced that those countries who refuse to accept the criminal migrants who have crossed the English Channel will face visa bans.
The Home Secretary will state that those countries which do not comply will be hit with a “sliding scale” of penalties which will ban fast track visa services, a ban on tourists, a ban on entry documents and these measures could be extended to senior politicians.
Mahmood is set to announced policies which will stop people travelling to the UK from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Namibia and Angola unless those government make swift changes to accept migrants, The Telegraph reports.
Somalia, Iran Bangladesh and Egypt are the worst culprits for not accepting migrants.
The visa ban is similar to what Donald Trump imposed on some African and East Asian countries and the US President ramped up measures to remove illegal migrants and foreign criminals.
Mahmood’s policies will include measures which will stop immigrations judges allowing migrants the right to family life under the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR).
The Home Secretary will work with the ECHR to prevent them from blocking deportations and the migrants will only be allowed to have one appeal which will stop the “endless” appeals.
Mahmood said, “Illegal migrants and foreign criminals are exploiting our human rights laws. I share the public’s fury at seeing our laws used against us.
“It is an outrage that an arsonist sentenced to five years in jail can’t be deported because his sibling lives in the country.
We will write domestic laws so the safety of British citizens comes first. We will bear down on vexatious human rights claims that ground flights.
“Bogus cases raised by claimants without a leg to stand on will be heard and dismissed faster.”
She wrote in the Guardian, “I know that a country without secure borders is a less safe country for those who look like me. Dark forces are stirring up anger in this country, and seeking to turn that anger into hate. We must take the opportunity we have to stop that from happening. And I know we can.”
