Here’s what you need to know

Britain might be heading towards another election after today’s shock results.

According to the Fixed Term Parliaments Act, if a government loses a confidence vote, alternative party leaders have 14 days to form a their own government. 

If a second confidence vote is lost, an early election will be held.
