Revolut have announced that it is partnering with Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) / Doctors without Borders to provide support for communities affected by coronavirus.

Revolut customers in EEA countries will be able to donate via the in-app Donations feature to help those most in need during this pandemic.

From the frontlines in Italy to war-torn Syria and Yemen, or the vast refugee camps in South Sudan and Bangladesh, MSF emergency medical teams are working alongside local healthcare staff, doing all they can to fight the coronavirus pandemic and to keep existing projects running.

They’re setting up life-saving infection control measures that will protect patients and keep frontline staff safe and healthy and their logistics teams are delivering the tools to beat COVID-19, from medicines and protective clothing to state-of-the-art mobile hospitals.

Since 1971, MSF has treated hundreds of thousands of people battling HIV/AIDS, cholera and Ebola and through every epidemic, it’s the most vulnerable people who need the greatest support.

The coming months are going to present MSF with huge challenges, both in treating people affected by COVID-19 and protecting the people already under their care. But with your help they can adapt to this unprecedented threat every day.

Nik Storonsky, Founder and CEO at Revolut said, “During these turbulent times, it is deeply encouraging to see this massive wave of solidarity and we’re confident that our community of generous customers will appreciate the opportunity to donate and support those affected by coronavirus. We’re thankful that we could set up the partnership with Médecins Sans Frontières  in a matter of days in order to help those who are affected, and look forward to working together to provide as much support as possible.“

Vickie Hawkins, Executive Director at MSF UK said, “MSF is very grateful to have the support of Revolut and its customers as we respond to the coronavirus pandemic. With your help, we will be able to provide medical care and assistance to some of those who are most at risk from this outbreak – whether that’s people already suffering from long-running conflicts in Yemen or Syria, or vulnerable groups such as older people, refugees and the homeless within Europe.

“As an organization we have fought epidemics around the world for nearly 50 years, including the 2014 Ebola outbreak in west Africa.  But we wouldn’t be able to do this without the generous help of individual supporters around the world. So thank you to Revolut and its customers for helping MSF with this fight. Together we can ensure that we provide vital medical care to people impacted by COVID-19, the world over.”

Revolut customers across EEA countries will be able to donate via the in-app Donations feature, which allows all users to round up their card payments and donate the difference to charity. Customers can also donate by setting up a recurring payment or making one-off donations.

One hundred percent of the amount donated by customers goes to MSF, with Revolut charging no fees to donate. There is no minimum donation amount and the feature can be turned on and off by customers at any time.
