Double standards? Question asked if UK’s top cop committed ‘the offence of criminal damage?’

The Metropolitan police chief Sir Mark Rowley has been called “petulant” over his “embarrassing” and “childish” behaviour on Monday outside the Cabinet Office.

When leaving the Cabinet Office on Monday a journalist asked very politely about the controversial “two tier policing,” the UK’s most senior cop said nothing and grabbed the microphone and threw part of it on to the ground

Double standards? If a member of the public did that to something the UK’s most senior police officer was holding that person would most certainly be arrested and thrown before a judge.

Former Met Police detective Peter Bleksley said that Sir Mark’s actions could indeed amount to criminal damage.

He told GB News, “Petulant, childish, and an embarrassing act for Britain’s most senior cop.

“And the big question is, did he commit the offence of criminal damage?

“If he did, then I hope the reporter has lodged a complaint.”

Scotland Yard protecting their own rejected the outburst and a spokesperson said, “The Commissioner had a positive and constructive meeting with the Prime Minister and partners across government and policing.

“He was in a hurry to return to New Scotland Yard to take action on the agreed next steps.”

Sir Mark has since apologised after he ripped the microphone from the Sky News journalist.
