In a significant incident early Monday morning, multiple US military aircraft crashed near Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
A spokesperson for the defence ministry confirmed that all crew members on board survived the crashes, which has alleviated some immediate concerns over potential casualties.
Eyewitness accounts and video footage circulating on the social media platform X depict an F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft engulfed in flames as it spiralled downward, approximately six miles from the air base.
The pilot successfully ejected before the aircraft made impact. Initially, there was uncertainty regarding the condition of the second crew member, who serves as the weapons systems operator.
However, officials have since reported that both crew members were promptly airlifted to a local hospital, where they are currently in stable condition.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. At this time, it remains unclear whether the aircraft was shot down by an Iranian missile, whether US air defence systems accidentally struck it in a tragic friendly-fire event, or if it was the result of a technical malfunction. The military has launched thorough search-and-rescue operations that commenced immediately after the crashes, with crews being evacuated quickly to ensure their safety.

In a sombre update, defence officials confirmed that three US soldiers have tragically lost their lives, and five others have sustained injuries since military operations began on Saturday. Former President Donald Trump has made a public statement vowing to seek vengeance for the deaths of US personnel, warning that additional casualties could emerge as hostilities continue.
The conflict took a further turn on Monday as Israel carried out airstrikes against targets in Lebanon. This was in direct response to retaliatory fire from Hezbollah following the recent killing of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei. Analysts point out that these aircraft incidents underscore the increasing dangers faced by military personnel as tensions rise and the conflict extends across multiple theatres of operation, raising alarms about the potential for wider engagement in the region.
