Want to enjoy the Jubilee celebrations but terrified of getting caught in traffic? Here’s our guide to help you get around
Saturday 2 June – Epsom Derby and Hyde Park Festival
Road
- Motorists are advised to avoid driving in central London. Roads near Hyde Park will be particularly busy. Extensive road closures will be in place, TfL plans to close roads as when traffic peaks, and hasn’t released any information regarding planned closures apart from a possible closure of Park Lane to help crowds safely disperse.
Tube
- All Tube lines will run a normal Saturday service
- Stations around Hyde Park, St. James’s Park and Green Park will be busier than usual.
Normal service on the buses, London Overground and Docklands Light Railway (DLR)
Sunday 3 June – River Pageant
Road closures
- Road access from south of the Thames to north of the Thames will be limited between 7am – 10pm
- Piccadilly will be closed to traffic from 7am on 3 June to 1pm on 4 June
- Roads around St James’s Park are closed from 1 June to 5 June inclusive
Bridge closures
- ALL London bridges will be closed by 3pm on Sunday 3 June.
- Many central London bridges between Battersea Bridge and Tower Bridge inclusive will be closed for large parts of the day.
Bridges to be closed to all traffic and pedestrians from 7am – 9pm:
- Albert Bridge
- Lambeth Bridge
- Westminster Bridge
- Blackfriars Bridge
- Tower Bridge
- Millennium Bridge
- Jubilee footbridge
Bridges closed to traffic and pedestrians between 3pm – 5.30pm:
- Waterloo
- Southwark
- London Bridge
- Vauxhall
Bridges open for pedestrians only throughout the day:
- Battersea
- Chelsea
Bus
Bus services that usually cross the river between Battersea Bridge and Tower Bridge will not do so between 7am – 9.30pm, the following ‘bus hubs’ have been established

- Battersea Bridge Road
- Chelsea World’s End
- Elephant & Castle
- Holborn Circus
- Holborn
- Liverpool Street
- London Bridge
- Moorgate / Finsbury Square
- Piccadilly
- Tottenham Court Road

Tube
- All Tube lines will run a normal Sunday service
- Stations around Hyde Park, St. James’s Park and Green Park will be busier than usual,
Busiest tube stations
- Westminster
- Embankment

- Waterloo
- Southwark
- London Bridge
- East Putney
- Fulham Broadway
- Putney Bridge
An enhanced service will run on the DLR.
Monday 4 June – BBC Concert, Buckingham Palace
- Areas around St.James’s Park, the Mall and Hyde Park will be very busy
- As the event finishes during the late evening, TfL has advised those attending to bear in mind that tube, rail and bus services will be slower than usual
Roads
- Roads near Hyde Park will be very busy
- Park Lane is likely to be closed to traffic between 10pm – 11.30pm so that crowds can safely disperse
- Many roads around central London will be closed to traffic, with a number of bus services diverted or not running their full routes
Tube
- All Tube services expected to operate as normal
- Stations including Hyde Park Corner, Green Park, St.James’s Park and Marble Arch will be busy
Normal service on the DLR
London Overground
- Richmond to Willesden Junction and South Tottenham to Barking will be closed
Tuesday 5 June – Service of Thanksgiving, carriage procession and balcony appearance
- Areas around Hyde Park, St.James Park, Green Park and the Mall will all be very busy
Roads
- Many roads around central London will be closed to traffic, with a number of bus services diverted or not running their full routes
Tube
- Tube services will operate a Saturday service with no planned engineering work across the whole network
A full Saturday service will operate on the DLR
London Overground
All services will operate as normal apart from South Tottenham to Barking, closed for engineering works
