This content can get people engaging, but it probably won’t generate leads, because it doesn’t link to your business in any way.

Interact with other social media users

Social media is designed to be a social experience. If you’re just publishing posts and not interacting with other users, you may as well be pinning flyers to a public noticeboard. Encouraging comments/replies is vital because it allows you to start a conversation. And conversations can allow you to build relationships which could lead to sales.

Try to post content such as polls and questions that gets people interacting, and reply to each comment. People are more likely to remember you if they’ve interacted with you. From here, they may take an interest in your product/service.

It’s particularly important to keep on top of questions that are directly about your product. The sooner you answer these, the more chances you have of converting them into a customer.

Make sure that you’re also interacting with other people’s content. Comment on posts and get your name out there. This can help you to build leads in a similar way to in-person networking.
