Russia bombs Chernihiv, north of Kyiv as Ukraine is now in an acute position

The situation in Ukraine is now acute situation and Russian troops are “breaking out” of positional warfare.

On Wednesday Russian missiles rained down on the city of Chernihiv which is 90 miles north of Kyiv leaving many dead and injured.

A Russian missile hit an eight-floor apartment building with 13 killed and more than 60 injured.

Ukraine needs weapons, ammunition and air defences and without this it is highly likely Russia could win this war which will threaten security across Europe.

US Congress have been holding up the approval for $60 billion military aid package for Ukraine, however this week House Speaker Mike Johnson said he will try and have this package moved this week.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in an assessment, “The Russians are breaking out of positional warfare and beginning to restore manoeuvre to the battlefield because of the delays in the provision of U.S. military assistance to Ukraine.

Ukraine cannot hold the present lines now without the rapid resumption of U.S. assistance, particularly air defence and artillery that only the U.S. can provide rapidly and at scale.”

Officials in Kyiv have warned that a major Russian offensive could start as early as next month and Ukrainian troops are building fortifications and digging trenches in preparation for the next wave of attacks.
