In a counterattack in the Bakhmut axis Russia throwing mass “cannon fodder assaults” in several areas of the Avdiyivka axis, sustaining unimaginable losses.
The Acting Head of the Planning Department of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine Mykola Urshalovych said that “intense fighting continues” in the area.
He said, “In the Bakhmut axis, in the Klischiyivka area, intense fighting continues.

“The enemy has been constantly and actively counterattacking with the aim of stopping further advancement of our detachments and taking back the lost positions.”
Urshalovych said fighters from the 5th Brigade of the National Guard, who are part of the defense forces, are repelling Russian attacks without losing previously achieved successes.

The National Guard’s OMEGA special force units are conducting reconnaissance, shock-search, sniper, and counter-sniper operations in the vicinity of Avdiyivka, around-the-clock causing losses with Russian personnel and equipment, Urshalovych said.
In Tavriysk direction, Ukrainian forces destroyed an enemy Su–25 fighter attack aircraft, the commander of the Operational-Strategic Group of Troops Tavria Oleksandr Tarnavsky said.
He wrote on Telegram, “Our soldiers are steadfastly holding the defense in Avdiyivka direction.
“The enemy’s offensive actions in the areas of Novokalynove, Avdiyivka, Opytne and Pervomaiske were unsuccessful.
“Units of rocket troops and artillery from Tavria Operational-Strategic Group of Troops performed 1,068 firing tasks during the day.”
