The Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko is “fearing for his life” after his Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei was “murdered” by Russian spies as he was poisoned.

Makei who was an ex-military intelligence officer was 64, fit and healthy and died last weekend and he was due to meet with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

It has been reported that Lukashenko is in a state of shock and has “ordered that his cooks, servants and guards be replaced… and his children provided with additional protection.”

A former Russian intelligence officer who has connections with the CIA and MI6 wrote on the General SVR Telegram channel, that Makei’s death “was planned, prepared and implemented on the personal initiative of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin,” to intimidate Lukashenko into breaking off secret negotiations with the West.

Former Belarusian diplomat Pavel Latushka hinted that Makei was “assassinated” because he “knew more about Lukashenko than any other person in the country.”

However, an exiled Israeli businessman Leonid Nevzlin, who was born in Russia said that sources told him Lukashenko’s Minister was killed “with a poison developed in a special laboratory of the FSB” spy agency.

Nevzlin said that Makei “had no health problems, led an active lifestyle and made plans.”

Nevzlin said of Lukashenko, that “the dictator trusts no-one.

“Not without reason. He believes that after Makei, a magnificent funeral can be arranged for him… the Kremlin is ready to use all levers to put pressure on the Belarusian regime.”

He added, “It is very easy to poison a person so that everyone thinks he died of natural causes.”

Nevzlin said that he believes the “assassination” of the Belarusian Foreign Minister happened as warning to Lukashenko to ensure Belarus keeps backing Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine.

Nevzlin said, “The dictator trusts no-one.

“Not without reason. He believes that after Makei, a magnificent funeral can be arranged for him… the Kremlin is ready to use all levers to put pressure on the Belarusian regime.”
