Boris Johnson is now 7/5 on Betfair Exchange to leave Downing Street this year as more MPs continue to turn against him, making 2022 the new favourite year for the Prime Minister to be kicked out of office, having previously been 2024 or later.

The odds for Johnson to depart in 2023 is 14/5, while 2024 or later is now 6/4, whilst Jeremy Hunt is the 5/1 favourite to replace Johnson as Conservative leader, overtaking Liz Truss, who is 13/2.

Penny Mordaunt: 9/1

Ben Wallace: 9/1

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said, “With more and more Tory MPs turning on Boris Johnson amid the ‘partygate’ fallout, with the latest being Andrea Leadsom, 2022 has been heavily backed and it is now the new favourite to be the year the Prime Minister leaves No.10.

“Previously, 2024 or later had been the favourite year for Johnson to leave, but that is now 6/4, while 2023 is 14/5. Jeremy Hunt is the frontrunner to be the next Conservative leader at 5/1, with former favourite Liz Truss 13/2.”
