A submarine located in the Black Sea has fired six cruise missiles near to Lviv airport damaging a factory close to the Polish border, the West air command reported on its Facebook page.
Andriy Sadovyi, the Mayor of Lviv confirmed the airport was not hit in the cruise missile attack but a building which is used to repair military aircraft was badly damaged.
“According to preliminary data, six cruise missiles, possibly X-555, were fired from a submarine in the Black Sea,” the West air command report says.
“Two missiles were destroyed in the air by the anti-aircraft missile forces of the West air command.”
Last weekend Russian forces fired 30 cruise missiles destroying a NATO training facility West of Lviv which is around 9 miles from the Polish border.
