Failed bomb attempt in Paris shows that France was at an ‘extremely high risk’ of a terror attack

French authorities have arrested five people and deactivated an explosive device, a member of the public alerted the police of suspicious activity in the Porte d’Auteuil of the affluent, 16th district in Paris.

Two gas cylinders and were found inside the building and on a pavement, a mobile phone was attached to the gas cylinders, this suggests the phone was to be used as a ‘possible’ detonator.

Gerard Collomb, French interior minister said one of those arrested was “radicalised” and is on the terror watchlist, he said that this demonstrates that France was at an “extremely high” risk of a terror attack.
