Russia fired missiles at at the Pivdennoukrainska Nuclear Power Plant and a “powerful explosion” rocked the facility, Ukraine’s nuclear watchdog said.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko gave a chilling warning that that if it was “some hundred meters” closer Europe would have woken up to a very “different reality.”

Energoatom said on Monday morning, “A powerful explosion occurred just 300 meters from the nuclear power plant reactors.

“The building of the nuclear power plant was damaged by a shock wave. More than 100 windows were broken.

“One of the hydroelectric units of the Oleksandrivska hydroelectric power plant, which is part of the Pivdennoukrainsk energy complex, was turned off.

“Three high-voltage power lines were also turned off.”

Tymoshenko wrote a chilling remark on his Telegram channel, “Some hundred meters and we would wake up in a completely different reality… Terrorists cross all boundaries.”

Russia launched multiple missile attacks in the Mykolaiv region and the Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych said civilian infrastructure was being attacked.

Senkevych wrote on the Telegram channel on Monday, “Mykolaiv has been shelled after midnight today. One of the rockets hit the courtyard of a private house.

“A utility building has been completely destroyed there, windows, doors, and a mutilated roof have been knocked out in several residential buildings.

“Fortunately, none of the residents were injured,”

In addition, “about 300 meters of contact wire of the tram network were damaged in one of the sections. The repair team of Mykoliavelectrotrans is already working on the spot.”
