MI6 and the CIA have disclosed intelligence which reveals that the most powerful paramilitary organisation in the Middle East are now “on the ground” in Crimea with Vladimir Putin’s forces.

Tehran has sent the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to help aid Putin’s troops in launching the Iranian Shahed 136 Kamikaze drones into Ukraine.

America’s National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that Iran are now helping Putin with their drones to destroy power stations and other critical infrastructure in Ukraine.

Kirby said, “The information we have is that the Iranians have put trainers and tech support in Crimea, but it’s the Russians who are doing the piloting.”

Kirby added, that the White House are working to “expose, deter and confront Iran’s provision of these munitions against the Ukrainian people.

“Iran and Russia, they can lie to the world, but they certainly can’t hide the facts, and the fact is this: Tehran is now directly engaged on the ground.”

US State Department spokesman Ned Price then commented: “We can confirm that Russian military personnel based in Crimea have been piloting Iranian UAVs and using them to conduct kinetic strikes across Ukraine, including in strikes against Kyiv in recent days,”

Washington are now looking to impose further sanctions on Iran and they are exploring ways to make it harder for Tehran to provide weapons to Putin’s regime.

The British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said, “These cowardly drone strikes are an act of desperation.

“By enabling these strikes, these individuals and a manufacturer have caused the people of Ukraine untold suffering.

“We will ensure that they are held to account for their actions.”
