Russian drone ‘violates’ no fly-zone over German ‘nuclear power plant’

In recent months drones have been flying over military sites in Germany and sources have warned that it is most likely a Russian drone flew over a nuclear power plant in the country.

The “enemy object” flew from the North Sea over a decommissioned nuclear facility and a natural gas terminal in Brunsbuttel in northern Germany, according to Bild.

Flensburg public prosecutor Bernd Winterfeldt said on Thursday he suspects the drones are being use for “agent activity for sabotage purposes,” Reuters reports.

Over the past few days several drones have been seen in the area and a police report says, “The no-fly zone was violated several times by flying over the nuclear power plant.

“An enemy object, believed to be a military drone, was captured.”

Speaking to the German publication Bild in January, Marcus Faber, a member of Germany’s parliament said, “Drones are regularly spotted over the Klietz military training area, where the Bundeswehr (German military) trains Ukrainians (on Leopard 1 tank).”

He warned that Garmany has a “huge amount of catching up to do when it comes to drones.”

German politician, Andreas Schwarz, said, “We must not allow Russia to spy on military training areas with drones.
