Last week referendum votes took place which ended on Tuesday and the self-declared republics of Luhansk and Donetsk and the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions will now join the Russian Federation.
The Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin will attend a ceremony at the Kemlin and make a speech on Friday declaring that the four regions now belong to Russia and the territory will be “further enshrined” into their constitution.
The Kremlin said that in Donetsk 99% of the votes were in favour of joining the Russian Federation, 98% in Luhansk, 87% in Kherson and 93% in Zaporizhzhia.
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said last week that any region which is annexed by Moscow will come “under full protection,” meaning an attack on those areas is an attack on Russian soil.

Lavrov said, “All of the laws, doctrines, concepts and strategies of the Russian Federation apply to all of its territory,” referring specifically to the doctrine on the use of nuclear weapons.
The Russian Foreign Minister said that all territory will be “further enshrined” into their constitution.
A Kremlin spokesman said, “Tomorrow [Friday] at 15:00 in the Georgievsky Hall, the signing of agreements on the entry of new territories into the Russian Federation will take place.
“There will be a voluminous speech by Putin.”
The Russian President is preparing for a large scale attack which will then turn the war in Ukraine into his favour and Western leaders now seriously believe that a nuclear strike is on the cards.
Putin has warned the West and Ukraine that if any territory of the Russian Federation is threatened, comes under attack or if Western or NATO countries supply weapons then he is prepared to use nuclear weapons.
In an address to the nation on 21 September, Putin gave a chilling warning, “If there is a threat to the territorial integrity of our country, and in protecting our people we will certainly use all means to us – and I’m not bluffing.
“Those trying to blackmail us with nuclear weapons should know that the tables can turn on them.”
He continued, “Citizens of Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia and other areas free from the Nazi regime.
“We will be talking about the steps of protecting our sovereignty, support of the will and desire of our citizens to decide their will themselves.”
Putin realises he has made a “colossal mistake” by invading Ukraine and the CIA and MI6 spies have warned there is “credible intelligence” that Moscow are preparing for a large attack.
By deploying tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine this will create whats known as a “radiation dead zone” which will instantly stop the Ukrainian forces counteroffensive and will be seen as a strategic win for Putin.
Dr Stepan Stepanenko, research fellow at the Henry Jackson Society, told MailOnline, “At first glance, this act equates to cutting one’s nose off to spite the face [but] to understand why Russia would do this, we have to look at it in the context of the sham referendum taking place in Ukraine.
“Putin is fast running out of options, he needs to end the conflict with a tangible territorial gain before Russians twig what the rest of the world already knows: He lost the war.
“By conducting these sham referenda and moving the border to make these regions Russian territory, he is backing the West into an ultimatum; liberate these regions and you are directly attacking Russia.
“In this context, if Nord Stream was indeed targeted by Moscow then we can’t avoid seeing it as Putin preparing for a global war, in which supplying gas to Europe would be directly aiding his enemy.”
