Polish Prime Minister warns Europe ‘we are in a pre-war era’ not seen ‘since 1945’

The Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has issued a warning to Europe that “we are in a pre-war era” which has not been “seen since 1945.”

Missiles and drones rained down close to the Polish border on the Ukrainian side which seriously risks dragging NATO into the war with Russia.

NATO are now considering a “counter-attack” as Russian missiles are either crossing into Poland or landing very close to the border, this is also includes Moldova and Romania.

The Polish Prime Minister said during an interview with newspaper network LENA, “We have not had a situation like this since 1945.

“I know it sounds devastating, especially to people of the younger generation, but we have to mentally get used to a new era.

“We are in a pre-war era. I don’t exaggerate.”

Poland announced on Friday that in the early hours “Polish and allied aircraft have been activated” due to the major Russian missile and drone attacks.

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces said, “We would like to inform you that tonight there is intense activity of long-range aviation of the Russian Federation, related to missile strikes of Tu-95, Tu-22 and MIG-31 aircraft carried out against objects located in the territory of Ukraine.

All necessary procedures to ensure the safety of Polish airspace have been launched, and DORSZ [the Polish Operational Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces] is monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis.

“We warn that Polish and allied aircraft have been activated, which may result in increased noise levels, especially in the south-eastern part of the country.”

The Romanian Ministry of Defence said on Friday that fragments were found in their territory on a farm near to the Ukrainian border.

They said in a statement, “On the evening of 28 March, fragments that appear to have come from an aerial device [drone] on a farmland in the Great Braila Island were identified.

“The ministry of national defence, together with specialised structures within the national defence system, public order and national security, is conducting an investigation of the incident on Friday, March 29, according to specific operational procedures.”
