The Foreign Secretary David Lammy has warned that things in Lebanon are “fast moving” and the Foreign Office are strongly advising Brits in the country to leave now.

There is fears of all out war between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah as the latter has moved precision guided missiles in preparation for any attack.

The Foreign Secretary said, “We are advising British nationals to leave Lebanon and not to travel to the country.

“This is a fast-moving situation.

FCDO staff are working round the clock to help ensure the safety of British nationals.”

The British Foreign Office has warned that conflict could escalate in Lebanon and the Middle East with “little warning” or even without warning, this will leave commercial routes out of Lebanon massively disrupted.

The Foreign Office added, “Do not rely on FCDO being able to evacuate you in an emergency.

“You should have a personal emergency plan that does not rely on the UK government.

“This may include the ability to leave quickly or to shelter in place if you judge it necessary and safe to do so.”

Tensions in the region has escalated weekly since the war in Gaza started following the deadly 7 October attack on Israelis by Hamas.

Over the weekend there was a missile attack in the Golan Heights and the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised there will be a major retaliation.

The Israeli Prime Minister blames the Iranian backed Hezbollah for the missile attack in the Israeli controlled region of the Golan Heights that killed 12 children.

Israeli troops targeted a motorcycle near to the Lebanese border which killed two people.

Netanyahu warned, “The state of Israel will not and cannot overlook this.

“Our response will come, and it will be severe.”

Speaking of the attack in the Golan Heights he said, “These children are our children, they are the children of all of us.”

Netanyahu added, “The state of Israel will not and cannot overlook this. Our response will come, and it will be severe.”

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned that Hezbollah will “pay a price” and that we “will let actions speak for themselves.”
