Amazon entered the TV set-up box market yesterday with the $99 (£59) Amazon Fire TV.
The internet-connected TV set box is Amazon’s answer to Apple TV and Google’s Chromecast.
The device is a small black box that allows customers to stream content from Amazon’s library and other video-on-demand services directly to their TVs.
The device, which comes with a Bluetooth-enabled remote, can also be used to play games using a games controller called Voila.
“People play games on tablets but they want to play on TV,” said Amazon’s Peter Larsen.
