The Welsh Health Minister Vaughan Gething has warned that hospitals across the country that there is a “very real risk” that they could become overwhelmed.
The number of infections is growing by 4% each day in Wales with around 2,500 infections daily, scientific experts have warned.
Gething said that there was 894 people in hospitals across Wales which is up by 28% in one week.
He warned, “This is the highest that is has been since June this year.”
Gething added, that in the older population there are “worryingly high levels of infection” in the country.
