Smartwatches are the next big thing in gadgetry. Following the launch of Samsung’s version last week, Nissan has launched the Nissan Nismo smartwatch to accompany its performance cars.

It will connect you to your car and measure car and driver stats, and give you nifty messages such as “slow the pace” when your heart rate gets too high, or send reminder that your maintenance is due.

The device will also be connected to social media outlet such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The Nissan Nismo will track biometric stats like heart-rate and body temperature, and info on fuel consumption and average speeds. The smartwatch will be connected to in-car computer systems via Bluetooth.

Gareth Dunsmore, marketing communications general manager at Nissan, Europe, said: “Wearable technology is fast becoming the next big thing and we want to take advantage of this innovative technology.”
