US furious American weapons used to attack Russian city of Belgorod, saying they’ve ‘been pretty darn clear’

The US are furious that American weapons and military vehicles were used to attack the Belgorod region inside Russia, saying they have “been pretty darn clear” they “don’t support” this.

President Joe Biden’s administration is not happy that US military vehicles and weapons were used in Monday’s “cross border attack.”

US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said yesterday the White House were “looking into those reports that the US equipment and vehicles could have been involved.”

Kirby said in an angry tone, “We’ve been pretty darn clear: We don’t support the use of US-made equipment for attacks inside Russia.

“We’ve been clear about that with the Ukrainians.

“I won’t get into private discussions that we’re having with them. But I think we’ve been nothing but consistent about our concerns in that regard.”

However, on Tuesday the US state department spokesman Mathew Miller said, “It is up to Ukraine to decide how to conduct this war,” after acknowledging the images they saw “circulating on social media and elsewhere” of US supplied weapons.

Ukraine has in fact denied the claims that they were involved in any “cross border attack” in the Belgorod regions.

Moscow said they pushed back attackers in a counterterrorism operation and they have killed more than 70 “Ukrainian nationalists” who attacked the region with US armoured vehicles.

The attack took place around 80km north of the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv in a cross border incursion and the Russian military have said this was the most serious attack since the war started.

Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu warned that Moscow will react “extremely harshly” if Ukraine sends any more of their fighters into the Russian Federation.

Shoigu told Ministry officials, “We will continue to respond to such actions by Ukrainian militants promptly and extremely harshly.”

Two groups of the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps, claimed responsibility.
