Justin Bieber might boast of having the most followers on Twitter but around 50% of his ‘Beliebers’ are fake.
A report from social media anlysts Socialbakers claims that out of his 37.3 million followers, only 17.8 million have real accounts.
The company calculates the number of fake accounts by looking at the number of genuine tweets posted.
The findings also show that Lady Gaga, who is the second most-followed person on Twitter, has 19 million genuine fans compared to Bieber.
