The Tories lost Somerton and Frome to the Lib Dems and Labour won Selby and Ainsty but the retained Uxbridge.

Labour overturned a huge majority of 20,137 of Selby and Ainsty and the Lib Dems win in Somerton and Frome by election by more than 11,000 votes.

The Tories narrowly held Uxbridge and South Ruislip and the Prime Minister has vowed to “deliver for people” saying despite the losses it is not a “done deal.”

Rishi Sunak has said he will “double down, stick to our plan and deliver for people”.

Speaking from a cafe in Boris Johnson’s former west London seat, Sunak said, “Westminster’s been acting like the next election is a done deal. The Labour Party has been acting like it’s a done deal.

“The people of Uxbridge just told all of them that it’s not.

“No one expected us to win here. But Steve’s victory demonstrates that when confronted with the actual reality of the Labour Party, when there’s an actual choice on a matter of substance at stake, people vote Conservative.”

Steve Tuckwell the Uxbridge seat winner said that it is Sadiq Khan’s “damaging and costly ULEZ policy” is the reason why Labour lost the seat.
