Ukrainian forces have retaken control of Chuhuiv and killed two high ranking Russian commanders, defence officials confirm.
The General Staff said the eastern city was “liberated” and “the occupiers suffered heavy losses in personnel and equipment,” the Ukrainian army posted.
“Lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Safronov, Commander of the 61st Separate Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, and Lieutenant Colonel Denis Glebov, Deputy Commander of the 11th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, were killed.”

Vladimir Putin’s troops “have been decimated” by Ukrainian troops and Russian forces are making “no progress,” according to the British Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Over the weekend Russian forces failed to make any further progress in their advance towards Kyiv the MoD confirmed.
In an update from defence intelligence at the MoD late last night suggested Russian efforts are being thwarted by the fierce Ukrainian resistance.
The update read, “Russian forces probably made minimal ground advances over the weekend.
