Twisted London is taking its huge online success into the real-world and launching a gourmet market stall at Mercato Metropolitano, bringing a bespoke loaded vegan burger made with fermented vegetables, to its eager fans.

The food channel with a cult following has responded to demands from its viewers and is offering the opportunity to meet the Twisted team and purchase a Twisted take-away in the heart of the city.

Teaming up with renowned chef Neil Rankin from symplicity Foods, the Twisted offer is a specially created, bespoke vegan burger, and side of vegan loaded fries.

They were designed and recipe-tested by Neil Rankin in collaboration with Tom Jackson, Creative Director of Twisted London, and Lean Kitchen Network and Jungle Creations. The recipe for the symplicity burger consists of a burger patty loaded with a cumin “lamb” and ragu mix, coriander, mint and ranch sauce, served in a toasted vegan brioche bun. It’s a light, fresh burger, bursting with the flavours of summer. The cumin “lamb” and ragu mix is also replicated on the loaded fries.  Both options will be available to purchase from Twisted London’s stall at Mercato Metropolitano which is located in Elephant and Castle (42 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6DR from today.)

Tom Jackson, Creative Director of Twisted says: “Any opportunity to feed Twisted fans in the real world is really exciting, but we’re particularly excited about this collaboration with Neil and the inspiring symplicity. The burger is something else – spicy, empowering, reminiscent of sloppy joes and made exclusively from sustainable ingredients (i.e. all the good stuff). Brands and people often say ‘you won’t miss the meat’ – but here you actually won’t. Having a presence at the fantastic Mercato space in Elephant and Castle allows our audience to put a face to the Twisted brand and sample the brilliant menu at Twisted London – and we’re kicking things off with an epic first collaboration. See you down there!”

Neil Rankin, Chef says: “We love the way the Twisted team have taken our products and worked with us to make something different. Mixing our ragu and cumin “lamb” style products creates a rich and spicy mince that works perfectly on top of our burger and also on loaded fries! Mercato is an awesome venue in Elephant and Castle for exploring food and we love that you can now get a symplicity burger at the Twisted London stall.”

Neil Rankin is the founder of the award-winning Temper in London, and vegan restaurant, symplicity. He worked in fine-dining kitchens such as Chez Bruce and Rhodes Twenty Four before developing a love for cooking with fire at Jamie Oliver’s Barbecoa. Neil is best known for his Southern-inspired barbecue food and has written a book on the subject, Low and Slow: How to Cook Meat. He has also appeared on the BBC’s Great British Menu.
