Swedish furniture giant Ikea opens their 20th store in the UK

Ikea has opened their 20th store Thursday, in Sheffield and created over 480 new jobs.

The furniture firm is planning to open two more, one in Greenwich and another in Exeter by the end of the year, creating a total combined of more than 1,300 new jobs.

Ireland and UK country manager, Gillian Drakeford said: Today is an important milestone for us, with Ikea Sheffield being our 20th store in the UK. The opening of Ikea Sheffield marks the continuation of a significant period of growth for our business.

“As we celebrate our 30th anniversary in the UK next month, we remain committed to building a strong and trusted brand whilst continuing to bring Ikea closer to many people.”
