The British Prime Minister has urged Iran to de-escalate tensions across the Middle East after three US troops were killed in Jordan at an American base.

The US President Joe Biden has blamed Iranian backed militants for the drone attack as the base in Jordon.

President Biden has warned that the US will “respond” and in eastern Syira Iranian backed fighters have started to flee from their positions in fear of reprisal attacks.

Speaking to broadcasters Rishi Sunak said, “We are concerned and would urge Iran to continue to de-escalate tensions in the region.

“We absolutely condemn what has happened over the past couple of days.

“My thoughts are with all of those impacted, those who lost their lives, their families and those that are injured.

“We stand resolutely with our allies to bring stability and peace to the region. And that’s what we’ll continue to work towards.”

The former US President Donald Trump has warned that we are “on the brink of World War 3” after three US servicemen were killed in Jordon which is a major escalation.

Downing Street have backed the US assessment and blamed, “radical Iran-backed militant groups” for the drone attack.

Biden said in a statement, that the US “will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner (of) our choosing.”

The Prime Minister’s official spokesman declined to comment if they will back any US reprisals, but said, “We will stand with our US allies in our continued and shared fight against terrorism.”

The Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said those responsible for the drone attack should be “held to account.”

The Labour leader told broadcasters, “I am concerned about the possibility of escalation of an already dangerous situation in the Middle East.

“So we have to see this in that context and do everything that we can to ensure there isn’t escalation of the conflict, and on the contrary, that we find ways to bring this conflict to the immediate end.”

Trump took to TruthSocial website and he went on a furious rant he wrote, “The drone attack on a U.S. Military Installation in Jordan, killing 3 American Servicemembers, and wounding many more, marks a horrible day for America.

“My most profound sympathies go to the Families of the Brave Servicemembers we have lost. I ask all Americans to join me in praying for those who have been wounded.

“This brazen attack on the United States is yet another horrific and tragic consequence of Joe Biden’s weakness and surrender….

“Page Two: Three years ago, Iran was weak, broke, and totally under control. Thanks to my Maximum Pressure policy, the Iranian Regime could barely scrape two dollars together to fund their terrorist proxies.

“Then Joe Biden came in and gave Iran billions of dollars, which the Regime has used to spread bloodshed and carnage throughout the Middle East.

“This attack would NEVER have happened if I was President, not even a chance – Just like the Iranian-backed Hamas attack on Israel would never have happened, the War in Ukraine would never have happened, and we would right now have Peace throughout the World. Instead, we are on the brink of World War 3….

“Page Three: This terrible day is yet more proof that we need an immediate return to PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, so that there will be no more chaos, no more destruction, and no more loss of precious American lives. Our Country cannot survive with Joe Biden as Commander in Chief.”
