Passengers faced delays up to two hours
The timing couldn’t have been worse. Just yesterday Southeastern Railway was named one of the worst train operators in the UK.
And today, over 20 Southeastern trains into London were cancelled and delayed during this morning’s rush hour due to overrunning engineering works.
Commuters traveling between Ashford International and London faced delays of upto an hour with some facing a two-hour wait.
A spokesperson said that there was a power issue between Maidstone East and Swanley.
He said: “Services were affected by power supply problems due to overrunning engineering works, which were supposed to be finished on time today.
“They are back to normal now, but there will be knock-on delays. We advise passengers to check updates online.”
Angry commuters took to Twitter to vent their frustration
Wonderful service yet again from Southeastern – train late again yesterday, and this morning it was just cancelled! #Southeastern
