‘Putin is finished’ as the war has made a ‘decisive turning point’ with Moscow losing its main bastion over their ‘foolish invasion’

The war in Ukraine has now made a “decisive turning point” as Moscow has lost it’s main bastion in the Russian occupied areas this is now the beginning of the end of his time for Vladimir Putin.

Putin made a “massively foolish” decision to invade the Ukraine and his time is up as the Russian President, and he knows it, he is “finished.”

The Kremlin and Putin have hugely underestimated the Ukrainian armed forces and this is now the “peak moment” for Putin as he is now walking down the road to his downfall, a military analyst has said.

Professor Michael Clarke said Putin has made a “huge strategic blunder” which has now caused a “political crisis in Russia.”

Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Westminster Hour, Professor Clarke said, “Every day the Ukrainian government is still up and running and standing is a political victory for them and a political defeat for Russia.

“The Russians can occupy the country at a superficial level. But given that the Ukrainians now hate them – and you are talking about a big country, a physically big country of 45 million people – it is a sheer impossibility that the Russians can control Ukraine in the way that they thought likely or the way Putin thought likely.

“It’s a completely impossible scenario Putin has set his military forces, it’s a huge strategic blunder, which incidentally has now become a political crisis in Russia … this is peak Putin.

“After this Putin is finished.

“We don’t know how long it will take, it may be some years or it might actually be quite quick. But there is no way out for this, it is a massive massive mistake on his part.”

Professor Clarke added, “He (Putin) has taken on a country that does not want to be invaded because for some range of reasons he became obsessed with Ukraine and trying to use it as a lever to reset the whole European security architecture since the end of the cold war.

“It’s massively, massively foolish on his part.”

President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his nightly video address, “As of now, as part of active actions since the beginning of September, about 2,000 kilometres of our territory has already been liberated.

“These days, the Russian army is showing its best – showing its back. And, in the end, it is a good choice for them to run away.

“There is, and will be, no place for the occupiers in Ukraine.”

BBC News anchor Lucy Hockings said the retreat and collapse of the Russian front line is a major “humiliating setback” for Putin.

The BBC’s Hugo Bachega, reporting from Kyiv, called the latest counteroffensive a “massive gain” for Ukraine.

He said, “More than 30 villages or towns have been liberated in the east, and these are significant towns and villages.

“Russia has admitted that their troops have abandoned the town of Izyum, which operates as a major military hub for Moscow.”

Bachega added, “We have seen footage of people out in the streets in these areas welcoming Ukrainian soldiers with kisses and hugs.

“This could be a decisive turning point in this war.

“We are hearing from pro-Russian Telegram accounts that people in those regions are reporting a desperate situation for Russian troops.

“We have seen reports for weeks of Russians refusing to fight, and complaining they are understaffed and underequipped.

“It seems that many areas occupied by Russians are suffering really, really low morale.”

Andriy Yermak, Zelensky’s Chief of Staff, wrote on Twitter, “The Russian army is claiming the title of fastest army in the world … keep running!”

The Kyiv Independent’s defence reporter Illia Ponomarenko said, “The Russian front line section between Kupyansk and northern Donbas is collapsing.

“An official tells me he can’t keep up. They have gone further and faster than they imagined.”
