The Prime Minister and national security chiefs are holding an emergency COBRA meeting as there are fears there could be a Hamas terrorist attack in the UK.

The Home Secretary Suella Braverman the Met Police chief Sir Mark Rowley, Rishi Sunak and security advisors have concerns the Israel-Hamas war could spread beyond the Middle East to the UK.

The Metropolitan Police chief has raised concerns over “state threats from Iran” also.

Sir Mark said, “When you’ve got state threats from Iran, you’ve got terrorism being accelerated by the events and hate crime in communities.

“For Jewish communities, it’s now about 14-fold increase in antisemitism in London and for Muslim communities, it’s nearly threefold.”

On Monday morning Minister Robert Halfron said the government has a responsibility to ensure the UK population are “safe and secure from the threat of terrorism,” and he refused to say if the terror threat level will be raised from “substantial.”

Halfron was asked on Times Radio if the terror threat level will be raised, he said, “I’m not at that Cobra meeting. I’m sure it will be announced later on.

“But, of course, we have to make sure that British citizens are safe and secure from the threat of terrorism as the Government always does.”
