Musk warns Putin will gain more land and Ukraine are suffering a ‘tragic waste of life’

The SpaceX boss Elon Musk has warned that Russia “will certainly gain more land than they have today” and Ukraine are suffering huge losses.

The Tesla chief said that it is a “a tragic waste of life for Ukraine to attack a larger army that had defence in depth, minefields and stronger artillery”.

He said his “recommendation a year ago was for Ukraine to entrench and apply all resources to defence”.

There is no chance of Russia taking all of Ukraine, as the local resistance would be extreme in the west, but Russia will certainly gain more land than they have today.

The longer the war goes on, the more territory Russia will gain until they hit the Dnipro, which is tough to overcome.

“However, if the war lasts long enough, Odessa will fall too.”

Musk said that “I recommend a negotiated settlement before that happens.”

Russian forces have “maintains a significant quantitative advantage” in the war, and Vladmir Putin is recruiting more soldiers a month which “can highly likely continue to absorb losses.”

UK’s Ministry of Defence said (MoD) in their latest military update, Russian forces had maintained a “gradual advance west of Avdiivka.”

Russian forces in late March “almost certainly took control of two villages – Tonenke and Orlivka – and are continuing to contest others in the area.”

They also said that  Russia had continued attacks along several other points on the frontline but had made “little progress in recent weeks.”

“Russia maintains a significant quantitate advantage in the conflict, overmatching Ukraine in munitions and equipment numbers,” the MoD said.

It is likely recruiting approximately 30,000 additional personnel a month and can highly likely continue to absorb losses and continue attacks aimed at wearing down Ukrainian forces.”
