M25 closed in both directions after fireball crash

According to Surrey Police the M25 motorway has now been shut in both directions following a huge crash which saw a lorry in a huge ball of flames.

Emergency services are now working to clear J6 and release the traffic, but the motorway remains closed.

They said, “We are looking to release trapped traffic and we are working on this now.

“The Motorway remains closed.”

A witness at the scene said, seven fire engines had been seen dealing with the accident on the M25.

They said, “Lorry on fire close to M23 Junction, at least seven fire engines at work.”

Surrey Police said, “Road closure #M25 j6-7 and 7-6. Due to a large vehicle fire. Remain with your vehicle, keep the 2 meter distance from others. We are looking to release traffic in the closure and are starting to organise this now.”

Surrey Fire & Rescue said, “Fire crews from Surrey LondonFire Kent Fire Rescue & East Sussex FRS in attendance on M25 J6 to J7 dealing with a large vehicle fire Highways SEAST Surrey Police also in attendance.

“At this time both sides of the M25 are closed until further notice Traffic Alert.”

Travel news service, Inrix said, “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to vehicle fire on M25 clockwise after J6 A22 (Godstone).
