Laundryheap expands European footprint with fourth acquisition in two years

Laundryheap, the world’s largest on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning platform has today announced its fourth acquisition in 20 months, with the company acquiring the digital assets of Paris-based offering Lavoir Moderne to expand its footprint in the French capital.

Paris-based provider Lavoir Moderne fell into administration earlier this year, with the company’s digital assets now being brought into the Laundryheap stable. This closely follows the acquisition by Laundryheap of fellow French competitor Wast. It means Laundryheap is now the leading on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning provider in Paris.

In 2022, Laundryheap acquired UK competitor Laundrapp and took over the direct-to-consumer operations of fellow UK provider Oxwash in April of this year.

These acquisitions have enabled Laundryheap to meet growing consumer demand and strengthened its position across its 11 international markets. In addition to France, Laundryheap operates in the UK, US, Ireland, Denmark, the Netherlands, the UAE, Singapore, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. In 2022, the company saw growth of 130%.

Laundryheap was founded in London in 2014 by Deyan Dimitrov, Mayur Bommai and Ruxandra Lica. The team bootstrapped the business for the first three years, refining their model and plotting a path to sustainable growth, before raising strategic finance in 2018. They have since rapidly expanded their global footprint.

Laundryheap offers a range of services to B2C customers, including 24-hour door-to-door services for laundry and dry-cleaning. They also work with B2B partners across the hospitality, tourism and service industries. This has included brokering key laundry partnerships with Holiday Inn, Premier Inn, JustEat, UnderTheDoormat, Ibis, and Best Western.

The Lavoir Moderne brand will be replaced by the Laundryheap brand in the coming weeks, with previous Lavoir Moderne customers able to access on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning services through Laundryheap.

Deyan Dimitrov, CEO and Founder of Laundryheap, said, “We are thrilled to further bolster our presence in France with the acquisition of the Lavoir Moderne digital assets. We look forward to growing our footprint in the region and providing our Parisien customers with the excellent service we are known for.”
