Just when you thought it couldn’t possibly get any bigger, Facebook has gone and reported a colossal revenue growth of 63% in the three months to 31 December (Q4 2013) on the same period the year before, to some $2.59bn.
Profits for the whole of 2013 stood at $1.5bn.
Facebook attributed the growth to a huge increase in mobile advertising sales, which accounted for 53% of total advertising sales.

Ad sales made up the majority of its Q4 revenue, accounting for $2.34bn of the total $2.59bn, and up 76% on the same period the year before.
Mobile ad sales were up 23% on the same quarter in 2012.

“It was a great end to the year for Facebook,” Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement.
“We’re looking forward to our next decade and to helping connect the rest of the world.”
Facebook says it had a whopping 757 million daily users across the world as of December 2013.
