Domino’s pizza warns of overseas losses

Dominio’s Pizza are in an escalating row with franchisees and has warned of losses with their international business.

The global pizza chain has had a disappointing performance with their international arm, as sales as down 2% across the whole of their overseas markets, on a reported basis to £25.1m.

Dominio’s UK in the 13 weeks to 31 March, has reported a 3.1% hike in like-for-like sales, whilst like-for-like orders fell by 2.7% by volume and was offset by a 5.1% lift in prices, online sales were up by 8.5%.

David Wild chief executive said, “Internationally, performance remains disappointing and trading visibility is limited.”

He added, “Given persistently weak system sales in all our international markets, we no longer expect this part of our business to break even this year.

“We are therefore further tightening our focus on international costs and capital deployment.”
