China’s Foreign Minister Qin Gang has accused the West and their allies of “fuelling the fire” in Ukraine and also dismissed claims that they are planning to invade Taiwan.

The Foreign Minister said that China are “deeply worried” that the war in Ukraine could “spiral out of control, he told a security conference in Beijing.

Beijing are playing a major role and China’s top diplomat Wang Yi is in Moscow and has met with Vladimir Putin and declared their relationship as “solid as a rock.”

Wang Yi said China’s friendship with Moscow is “rock solid” and they will “resolutely defend national interests and dignity.”

Qin Gang said, “China is deeply worried that the Ukraine conflict will continue to escalate or even spiral out of control.

“We urge certain countries to immediately stop fuelling the fire.”

Qing Gang made his comments in what appears to be directed to the US who have been told they must “stop hyping up ‘today Ukraine, tomorrow Taiwan’.”

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said, “The US is not qualified to give orders to China.

“We will never accept US criticism, even coercion and pressure on China-Russia relations.”

Wang added, “China will continue to firmly stand on the side of dialogue and peace and play a constructive part in easing the situation.”

Wenbin comments come after the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken warned China not to provide Moscow with “lethal support.”

Blinken told CBS, “The concern that we have now is, based on information we have, that they’re considering providing lethal support.

“And we’ve made very clear to them that that could cause a serious problem for us and in our relationship.”

Speaking in Moscow on Wednesday Wang Yi said, “Today I am willing to further exchange views with you, my old friend, on the advancement of our mutual relationship, and I think we will definitely reach new consensus.

“No matter how the international situation changes, China has been and remains willing to maintain the positive trend with Russia in building a new type of cooperative relationship between major powers.”

More Russian officials are upping their rhetoric on a nuclear attack as they claim the US has “lost touch with reality.”

The Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Medvedev said, “If the US wants Russia’s defeat, we have the right to defend ourselves with any weapons, including nuclear.

“Let the US elites who have lost touch with reality think about what they got.

“If the US wants Russia to be defeated, we are standing on the verge of a global conflict.”
