Carson Yeung, the owner of Birmingham City Football Club, has been found guilty of money laundering in Hong Kong, where he is a citizen.
The charges relate to $93m, described as criminal proceeds by prosecutors, Sky News reports, but were not related to his ownership of the football club.
The judge said Yeung had lied about how he had made the money and exaggerated profits from the hairdressing business he ran.
Yeung quit Birmingham City’s parent company last month.
