Heineken has said that they have seen sales of beer rise in 2022 delivering strong results despite being in a “volatile environment.”
The Dutch alcohol giant said lager sales soared by 12.5% in 2022 and the overall amount of beer sold climbed 6.9% with organic sales.
In Asia Pacific markets sales soared by more than 29% in the period and Birra Moretti stood out in the UK as sales more than doubled.
Dolf van den Brink, who is both chief executive and chair of the Dutch company said, “I am pleased that we delivered a strong set of results in 2022 in a continuously challenging and volatile environment, growing ahead of the beer category in the majority of our markets.
“Our premium portfolio continued to outperform, led by the excellent momentum of the Heineken brand and further propelled by the rollout of Heineken Silver.
“We are innovating to expand our leadership positions in non-alcoholic and in beyond beer.”
He said that sales of beer have now “fully recovered” from the pandemic and that their sales are now ahead of 2019 levels.
