Russian nuclear bombers escorted by fighter jets have been seen flying high over the Black Sea near to the Ukraine on Monday morning.

There are fears Vladimir Putin could escalate the situation further after his flagship war ship was destroyed by Ukrainian forces.

Moscow sent four Tu-95s to the Kaluga region which is near to the Ukrainian border and they are within striking distance to bomb the Ukraine.

Putin has previously used these bombers to drop non-nuclear missiles over Mariupol and Kyiv and this comes after President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned Russia could now use nuclear weapons.

The world has been warned to brace for a nuclear attack and countries have been strongly advised to stock up on anti-radiation treatment and build air raid shelters in the West.

The Ukrainian President told CNN, “Chemical weapons, they should do it, they could do it, for them the life of the people, nothing.

“We should think not to be afraid, not to be afraid but be ready. But that is not a question for Ukraine, not only for Ukraine but for all the world, I think.”

Zelensky warned Ukrainian media that “We shouldn’t wait for the moment when Russia decides to use nuclear weapons.

“We must prepare for that.”

Last month Putin’s chief secretary Dmitry Peskov refused to rule out that nuclear weapons could be used and warned such weapons could be used if there is any “existential threat for our country.”

In a televised statement in February Putin warned, “No matter who tries to stand in our way or all the more so create threats for our country and our people, they must know that Russia will respond immediately, and the consequences will be such as you have never seen in your entire history.”
