Vladimir Putin will get 80% in the presidential elections on 17 March, claims Mironov

The leader of the “Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth” party and faction in the State Duma, Sergey Mironov, has predicted that the Russian President Vladimir Putin will be re-elected for a new term with a result of about 80% of votes on 17 March.

He said that his party would do everything to ensure that the turnout in the elections was 75%.

Mironov told LondonLovesBusiness.com, “I have no doubt that on March 17, Vladimir Putin will be re-elected by an overwhelming majority of Russian citizens.

โ€œThere will be about 80% of the votes for him. The most important threat is people’s complacency. The fact is that many Russian citizens support Vladimir Putin, but they think, โ€˜Why would I go? He will be elected anyway.โ€™ And they are ready to stay at home. But this is wrong.

โ€œImagine when Vladimir Putin gets 70โ€“80% of the votes, and the turnout is 52โ€“54%. What will the whole world say? Only half voted, and half stayed at home.

โ€œThis means that half of the people doubt Vladimir Putin‘s policies. In this regard, we want the turnout to be at least 75%.”
