The US Department of Defense (DoD) has announced that they will send Ukraine a $250 million security assistance package.

This new package will be the fifty-fourth tranche of equipment to be sent which will include air defence capabilities.

Ukrainian forces will receive more than 15 million rounds of small arms ammunition, Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems and 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds.

The US DoD will also send additional munitions for National advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS), Stinger anti-aircraft missiles along with air defense system components.

The DoD said in a statement, “This announcement is the Biden Administration’s fifty-fourth tranche of equipment to be provided from DoD inventories for Ukraine since August 2021.”

The new $250 million military aid package will help Ukraine to counter Russia’s aggression in the ongoing war.

It is not known if this will be last tranche of military aid coming from the US as they have previously stated that there is “no magical pot of funding.”

The White House budget chief Shalanda Young warned on 4 October, that time is running out for Ukraine which will “kneecap” Ukrainian forces “on the battlefield.”

Young wrote a letter to House Speaker that there is “no magical pot of funding” which will end up being very damaging for Ukraine in their fight against Russian forces.

The war is now in its third winter and Vladimir Putin is playing the long game for Ukraine as he has been throwing everything at the war to win.

Young wrote, “I want to be clear: without congressional action, by the end of the year we will run out of resources to procure more weapons and equipment for Ukraine.”

“Cutting off the flow of US weapons and equipment will kneecap Ukraine on the battlefield,” she added.

The West has also been warned that they could hand Vladimir Putin a “victory” on silver plate over their “lethargy” as Ukraine desperately need more support from their allies.

Many are saying that Russia is “winning the war” in Ukraine as they have plenty of “cannon fodder” to throw in the battlefields which is costing Putin the lives of around a 900 soldiers a day.

Moscow has an endless support of weapons from Iran and North Korea and it seems that Putin is prepared for the long haul.

The war in between Hamas and Israel has shifted the focus for the West and some supplies destined for Ukraine from the US ended up in Israel.

NATO’s General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg warned that Russia has a “high tolerance for casualties” after the Russian Army has lost over 525,000 soldiers.

Stoltenberg said that Russia has “lost a substantial part of its conventional forces. Hundreds of aircraft and thousands of tanks.”

Stoltenberg added, “As Ukraine has moved forward, Russia has fallen backward. It is now weaker politically, militarily, and economically.”
