Ukraine successfully fires their first ‘ballistic missile’ and the second will be inside Russia

27th Aug 24 3:31 pm

President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced on Tuesday Ukrainian forces have successfully conducted their first “ballistic missile” test.

He gave his thanks to the Ukrainian defense industry and said he “cannot disclose” any further details.

The Kremlin should now be concerned as the Ukrainian long-range ballistic missiles will be more than capable of blowing up parts of Red Square.

Kyiv has received many long-range ballistic missiles from Western allies, but they have only granted permission for these to fired at Russian positions in occupied Ukraine and Crimea.

Kyiv’s allies have not allowed these missiles to be used inside the Russian Federation for fear of a retaliatory strike from Moscow on the West.

However, the Kremlin will most certainly accuse the West of helping Ukraine to build such missiles.

President Zelensky told a press conference in Kyiv, “There is a large team of people working in the defense industry.

“These are not only state, but also private institutions. […] I am very grateful to our guys for doing their job. […] I thought it was too soon to talk about this, but I am going to say there was a test, a good one, of the first Ukrainian ballistic missile.”

The head of state congratulated the defense industry of Ukraine, saying, “I cannot disclose more details.”

President Zelensky said, “missiles are a costly program, which requires investment. But there is no such money in our budget today. We invested all we could.” He also noted that ongoing work is underway to find appropriate funding, in particular in cooperation with partners.

The president said that Ukrainian manufacturers can boost drone production, but there is not enough funding, he added, “We are capable of making 1.5-2 million drones. We can do this. We lack money.”
