Vladimir Putin is increasing his army by “more than 100,000 soldiers” and therefore is preparing for the “continuation of war.”
President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his overnight address that Putin is not preparing for negotiations as he is increasing his troop numbers by a significant amount.
President Zelensky said, “Putin is not preparing for negotiations, not for peace, but for the continuation of the war, and not only against us, against Ukraine. They are now increasing their army by more than 100 thousand soldiers.”
He confirmed that the relevant communication is taking place through the intelligence community, RBC-Ukraine reports.
Zelensky said, “We need to see together what the threats are and what our countermeasures are. We need a clear understanding: here in Europe, every country will have to strengthen its defence, and the target of 5% of GDP for defence will not disappear from the agenda.”
