Russia’s army is increasing by ‘more than 100,000 soldiers’ as Putin is preparing for ‘continuation of the war’

9th Feb 25 1:43 pm

Vladimir Putin is increasing his army by “more than 100,000 soldiers” and therefore is preparing for the “continuation of war.”

President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his overnight address that Putin is not preparing for negotiations as he is increasing his troop numbers by a significant amount.

President Zelensky said, “Putin is not preparing for negotiations, not for peace, but for the continuation of the war, and not only against us, against Ukraine. They are now increasing their army by more than 100 thousand soldiers.”

He confirmed that the relevant communication is taking place through the intelligence community, RBC-Ukraine reports.

Zelensky said, “We need to see together what the threats are and what our countermeasures are. We need a clear understanding: here in Europe, every country will have to strengthen its defence, and the target of 5% of GDP for defence will not disappear from the agenda.”

The new Chair of the NATO Military Committee is in Ukraine on Sunday, and they discussed preparations for meeting in Ramstein.

President Zelensky said, “Today we discussed preparations for Ramstein and the needs of our defence – our common defence.

“We now know – our intelligence reports to us – that the Russians are creating new divisions and developing new military production facilities. Their cooperation with North Korea will continue to expand.

“Unfortunately, Moscow is also spreading modern warfare technologies to that region, including drone technology.”

President Zelensky said that this is clear evidence that Putin is preparing for the continuation of war in Ukraine.
