Andrew Banks, 28, pleaded guilty to urinating next to heroic PC Keith Palmers memorial in London on Saturday during the protests.

Banks of Stanstead, Essex was sentenced to 14 days in prison after he pleaded guilty to outraging public decency at Westminster Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

Prosecutor Michael Mallon said Banks was in Central London over the weekend to “protect statues,” however he admitted he had no idea of which statues.

The court heard that he drank 16 pints on Friday night into the early hours of Saturday and it was claimed he had not slept.

He handed himself into police after his Father confronted him over what took place. Banks counsel Stuart Harris said he was “ashamed by his action.”
