Harry Potter author JK Rowling is suing her former PA for £24,000 for allegedly using her money to go on shopping sprees.
Rowling claims that Amanda Donaldson broke strict working rules by using the company credit card to buy personal gifts like cosmetics. Donaldson worked for the writer between February 2014 and April 2017, before being sacked.
Legal papers allege that Donaldson wrongly benefited to a value of £23,696 by making use of company funds. She is alleged to have spent £823 at Bibi Bakery, £1,482 with Jo Malone, £264 in Boots, £115 in Costa Coffee and £3,629 with Molton Brown.
A spokeswoman for Rowling added: “I can confirm JK Rowling has taken legal action against her former personal assistant, Amanda Donaldson, following her dismissal for gross misconduct involving a substantial breach of trust.”
35-year-old Donaldson has denied the claims.
